All eyes will be on who Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will be bring to the Etihad Stadium in the transfer window this summer, as they look to retain their Premier League title next term.
But equally important for the Italian is keeping hold of the club’s top players, with a number of the biggest teams from across Europe being linked with stars at the Etihad Stadium.
The Argentine trio of Pablo Zabaleta, Sergio Ageuro and Carlos Tevez, who have contributed to the swing of several crucial football scores in City’s favour, have all been linked with moves away from the club at some stage of the season.
Barcelona have reportedly declared their interest in Zabaleta, whilst Real Madrid and AC Milan have been linked with Aguero and Tevez respectively.
Despite the media speculation, which is bound to continue unit the end of the summer transfer window, Zabaleta has insisted he and his fellow Argentines are happy to stay with the English champions, as they push for honours in Europe next season.
The South American told: “The three of us spend a lot of time together, Sergio lives five minutes away.
“It’s great for Carlos, for Sergio, for me. We play together for the national team and I played with them in the youth teams.
“For us it’s a new experience here. Whenever you leave your country you learn a lot of things.
“The opportunity we have in England is making a big impact in our lives. The culture is different, the football is different, we are really enjoying it here. Manchester is one of the best places in the UK.”
If City can keep hold of the trio and the likes of midfielder Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany over the summer then they will certainly be among the front-runners in most English football betting markets ahead of the new season.
