Benfica ready for Chelsea

Chelsea will travel to Portugal this week looking to gain the upper hand in their two-legged tie against Benfica, with a place in this year’s Champions League semi-finals at stake.

While Chelsea may be the favourites going into the tie, Benfica midfielder Nicolas Gaitan has insisted the Portuguese club are full of belief that they can upset the odds and book their place in the last four of the competition. The 24-year old has claimed the club are adamant they have the ability to reach the final of this year’s tournament. Those looking at the Champions League betting should bear this in mind.

“At this stage of the Champions League every team is dangerous,” he said.

“Chelsea  will be very difficult to beat, but it is not impossible for us to eliminate them and reach the semi-finals.”

“We at Benfica feel like we don’t have limits this season. We do not fear any rival and our aim is to fight to get into the final in Munich.”

The winger has been an essential part of Benfica’s European exploits this season, leading the assist table with five and creating the team’s clinical strike-force with plenty of ammunition. People placing a Champions League bet should remember this.

While Chelsea may not be at their best this season, the Londoners have looked a lot steadier in Europe than in their Premier League campaign. With the league title now beyond them, winning the Champions League is even more important to the Londoners than it was at the beginning of the season.
