Look, I never have stopped going to Vegas (when I can).
So the news that business was down never really affected me personally.
But I am glad to see the comeback by casinos in Nevada, as reported by the state Gaming Control Board, which reported that casinos won $10.4 billion last year, a 0.1 percent increase compared with the year before.
By all accounts, 2009 sucked for casinos.
Well duh. Who had money?
In ‘o9 Nevada saw the largest drop in history — 10.4 percent — from 2008.
There were still low points in 2010, notably the gaming revenue drop of 4.3 percent in Washoe County and less than 1 percent in Clark County.
The Strip, however, saw an increase of 4.1 percent for the year. That estimate comes on the heels of a Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority report that showed more than 37 million visitors came to the city last year, a 2.7 percent increase from 2009.
So we’re all happy, right?
Now if I can just win a little bit more at Bellagio
